An Assistant can help grow your business

Picture this…

It’s 7:58AM on a Tuesday morning. You’re giddily walking to your home office, freshly made Americano in hand, ready to create some master content for your business with the 5 hours you blocked off today.

You sit down at your desk, lift open your laptop, type in your password, and immediately your email notifications start chiming.

You take a peek. 15 minutes turns into 30, which quickly turns into an hour. You’re down to 4 hours for deep work.

There were a handful that needed your immediate attention. Like the confirmation from a client asking if you’re still on for dinner tonight and where you two should meet.

Shoot. You completely forgot to make a reservation.

And a past due invoice that you thought you paid last week, but again, you completely forgot.

An important client is asking for time to speak tomorrow morning, you open your calendar to send him times and notice you are somehow double booked at 10AM and 3PM. How did that happen??

Oh, and your anniversary is tomorrow, so you better not forget to order flowers!

You are now down to 2 hours for deep work. You do a few arm and neck stretches to get your focus back to creating.

Your cell phone rings. It’s a client who could probably wait, but you figure it’s best to answer since you didn’t respond to her email yesterday.

You’re down to 1 hour to create content. You try to type but your brain is now in a fog. You sit there staring at the cursor blinking.

Hungry and defeated, you now have to join a 2PM call. The potential client passes on the opportunity to work together.

Now picture this..

It’s 7:58AM on a Tuesday morning. You’re giddily walking to your home office, freshly made Americano in hand, ready to create some master content for your business with the 5 hours you blocked off today.

You sit down at your desk, lift open your laptop, type in your password, pull up your calendar and see that the first 30 minutes are blocked off for you to check email. You also notice a calendar entry for dinner this evening at a nearby restaurant with reservation details confirmed.

You skim through your email, sending off important requests to your assistant with a “please handle, thank you!”

You come across a few emails from your assistant: flowers have been ordered for your anniversary, there were a couple overlapping meetings the following day- one was taken care of, but respond with which is priority between the other two, and that will be handled as well. And a reminder of an invoice we should have received- you forward her the invoice you overlooked last week.

Great. Everything is running smoothly. You check the time, it only took you 20 minutes to get through your emails.

4 hours later you have a storyboard created and a blueprint for your next product launch.

You take a quick break to grab a bite to eat before your 2PM call.

You join the call feeling re-energized and excited. The potential client can’t wait to start working together.

This is how powerful having an assistant can be for your business.
